Since 2001 when Casa Pascal first opened their doors this restaurant has become a Pattaya institution consistently serving exquisite, picture-perfect food in a sleek and sophisticated ambiance.   Always pushing the envelope of gastronomy Pascal and his lovely wife Kim have created a temple to polished service and gourmet dining combined with a splendid wine cellar offering a selection of the finest labels from across the globe.

Mick and I were invited to their 10th Anniversary opera gala dinner and were blown away by the virtuosity of the Korean Gwangju Opera Company.    The evening was truly breathtaking with the host of divas and divos performing operatic arias from Rigoletto to Carmen to the rousing La Traviata.   As a curtain raiser, the celebratory dinner commenced with an interesting Port infused fruity amuse bouche before the overture appetiser of Angus beef carpaccio, black truffles and Parmesan cheese.  Beef and truffles are true best friends and the combination fused delightfully.   For a gourmet prelude, cappuccino of Porcini mushroom soup with Parma ham followed proving to be another delicious liaison, softly comforting but with robust undertones.  A palate enlivening blood orange sorbet was then promptly served before the stirring strains of Nella Fantasia filled the restaurant and we were treated to the first musical delight of the evening culminating in a hair tingling and emotional O Sole Mio.

During the intermission, flamed Brittany lobster in Pinot Grigio with a basil reduction engaged our gustatory senses.   The sweetness of the tiramisu dessert brought to a close this gastronomic symphony of dishes.  The second and final part of the concert more than displayed the virtuosity of this fine company closing with Brindisi from La Traviata. This was  performed by the entire ensemble and with a crescendo of voices it received a standing ovation from the restaurant.    Beyond a doubt a suitably unrivalled performance to mark a decade of  discerning dining at Casa Pascal.

If you have not visited Casa Pascal there are many reasons why you should.  None more so than from March 15th the restaurant is introducing a breakfast/lunch buffet from 8.00 am till 2.00 pm for an astonishing B.165.   This promises to be an extreme brunch extravaganza providing a veritable smorgasbord of exciting tastes.  From Danish pastries to smoked fish, hams, salamis and cold cuts to salads and soups, a BBQ station, pork steaks, sausages, roschti potatoes,  fried rice dishes and noodles, desserts, fruits, juices and of course Pascal’s perfect coffee.
Then at 2.00 pm until 5.00 pm, Casa Pascal are introducing their innovative cake and sandwich buffet.  A quality high tea experience for  only B.135.  A taste of the sweet life indeed. Also,  there is their much acclaimed Sunday Brunch Buffet for B.899.   The culinary cabaret at Casa Pascal goes from class act to class act.   What could be nicer than a relaxed brunch/lunch at one of Pattaya’s finest restaurants?  Not much, we think.

Another big attraction at Casa Pascal is their gourmet set menus.
They change fortnightly and include the Grand Gourmet Set Menu at B.1,550 (with unlimited wine B.3,350).
The Gourmet menu is B.890 and B.940 for 3 and 4 courses respectively with the addition of B.1,290 for unlimited wine.
Since we last visited the menu has been enhanced with many new dishes but all the old favourites are still there to please their regular fan base.    New items include a Scandinavian platter of their own smoked salmon, grave lax and seafood cocktail or another new item, the tuna tartar (B.460).  Amongst the warm appetisers are flamed New Zealand mussels accompanied by Alaskan scallops and clams, fresh white asparagus from the Northern highlands and roasted duck breast on potted orange sauce.

Casa Pascal maintains consistently high standards and demonstrates with their regularly changing gourmet menus the imagination and creativity of a great culinary destination.  Come here to experience the very best in gastronomy theatre and discover for yourself why this restaurant is the destination of choice for Pattaya’s discerning diner.
