FOLLOWING routine investigations into local drug dealers by Pattaya Police Officers,
they recently found evidence to suggest that a serving Military Officer was involved in the distribution of illegal substances.
At around 5.30am, in front of the Kasikorn Bank, Central Pattaya Road, the police observed Khun Thong Jaroensuk (Joe), aged 41, a Military Officer with MTB14 and a Pattaya Police Volunteer, park his Honda Civic, possibly to make a delivery.
The officers approached him, identified themselves, and asked him to get out of the vehicle. When talking to the officers the man strenuously denied any involvement in illegal activities and showed the officers his military and Police Volunteer credentials to show he was a law abiding citizen.
However, with their previous investigations they did not believe him and insisted on searching him and his vehicle. In a drawer on the right side of the driver’s seat the officers discovered three packs of the drug ‘Ice’: the officers immediately arrested him and seized his car, all made their way to the local police station.
At the station, a thorough search of the vehicle revealed drug equipment and five mobile phones which police believe will lead to further arrests. The drugs in his possession weighed 3.9 grams.
Checking through the police records it was discovered that the man had been arrested previously for trafficking in drugs; however, he had obviously not learnt his lesson. He confessed to the officers that he had been dealing in drugs in the Pattaya area for around six months, and he divulged very useful and important information on where and from whom he purchased his drugs. It is hoped that further arrests will take place in the very near future.
