Alaskan king crab is prized and revered around the world by both crab connoisseurs and gourmets alike.
King crab fishing is carried out in the waters off the coast of Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. The fishing season is very short with only 11,000 tons of red king crab being landed annually – making this species a very rare delicacy.
