Police were summoned to a beer bar in Soi Bukao after a Belgian customer became drunk and began annoying clientele. He shouted, struggled with the police and kicked several motorbikes before being escorted to the holding cells in the main police station. Customers said that Kevin Andre Schmidt, the son of a previous owner of the bar, seemed to think his drinks would be free. When asked to pay on several occasions, he became difficult.
