The FEI World Dressage Challenge 2012 gets under way Oct. 23 at Horseshoe Point Pattaya when Thailand welcomes participants from 55 countries.
The three-day event marks the 32d anniversary of the series designed to promote and expand horse-riding skills in developing countries throughout the world. Thailand is in the FEI Zone 8 with India, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
The major objectives of this competition are to allow less experienced dressage riders to compete locally with international riders, and to promote the new generations. Last year, 248 children competed in the challenge. Internationally experienced judges travel to regions around the world both to judge competitions and to provide clinics in the art of dressage.
