The Danish Embassy is seeking bikers to join the charity ride to Phnom Penh in November on behalf of the charity Helmet for Kids. The campaign is coordinated by the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation which has already distributed hundreds of thousands of helmets to primary school children, mainly in Vietnam, since the year 2000.
The Danish ambassador, Mikael Hemniti Winther, will lead the two day ride on the 650 kilometre route to Cambodia’s capital. The whole event will cover the period November 8-14. Participants will spend the first night at an hotel in Battambang and the event will finish at the Phnom Penh waterfront, in time for the water festival there. The optional return journey begins on November 12.
The registration fee for each bike is 10,000 baht and free for passengers. All money raised goes to the charity. There are also sponsorship packages available. More information is at www.go4charityride.com or on 082 790 0556.
