Police patrolling Soi 13, Pattaya, noticed a Thai man who appeared to be nervous and acting suspiciously. As police grew near, he ran away but the wily cops had a motorbike which they used to apprehend Jakri Sawatnatee, 25, from Udon Thani. It was then discovered that he was concealing a gold necklace which he admitted he had stolen from an Indian tourist. At Pattaya police station, a spokesman said the necklace was ready for collection by the aggrieved party. However, he has not yet turned up. Jakri was dismissed after the details were recorded.
