Chonburi Immigration arrest former Belgium Police Officer in Pattaya

The Chonburi Immigration Office in Jomtien, led by Police Colonel Atisawit, Superintendant of the office, recently announced the arrest of a former police officer from Belgium for impersonating a Belgium Embassy Official, and attempting to extort money from his fellow countrymen.

The arrested man, Mr. Marc Raymond Jacobs, aged 50, was taken into custody at the Malee House Apartments, located off Pratumnak Road in South Pattaya, and followed an urgent request for assistance from the Belgium Embassy. Following the request, the Immigration Office placed Mr. Jacobs on the Immigration Black List, this led to for his arrest

Upon apprehension, Mr. Jacobs, strenuously denied all allegations of extortion and impersonating a foreign government official, despite evidence of counterfeit Diplomatic Cards found in his possession.

Mr. Jacobs, will be handed over to the Belgium Embassy officials and it is expected that he will face charges in Belgium.
