Officers from Pattaya’s Tourist Police recently received a report from an elderly Swiss man that he had been robbed after employing the services of a young lady and taking her back to his hotel room, she had apparently drugged him with chocolate.

Arriving at the Carton Pattaya Hotel opposite the Alcazar Theatre, officers were met by the victim, Mr. Felix Ferdinand Erin, age 70 years old, who explained to the officers that earlier in the evening, around 22.00 hrs, he had been on his way back to the hotel, walking along Pattaya Beach Road, when he was approached by a Thai lady, around 40 years old, who offered to accompany him back to his room for some late night exercise.

Arriving back at his hotel room the Thai girl brought out some chocolate which they were both enjoying whilst working out, this was at around 23.00 hrs, and the last thing he remembers, before awakening to discover his room had been ransacked and all his belongings taken. He took the officers to inspect his room and explained that she had got away with Swiss Travellers Cheques, Swiss Francs and around 150 Euros in cash. He suspects that the chocolate had been mixed with a drug that had knocked him out whilst she committed the robbery. He quickly notified the hotel staff who informed the police.

The officers interviewed the hotel staff to establish the identity of the Thai lady in question, however, the previous evening the Swiss man had been reluctant to allow the young woman to surrender her ID at reception, therefore, they had no idea who she was. The hotel security cameras had captured her image and a composite picture has been created to try and help the officer’s track down this opportunist thief, who isn’t averse to creating her own luck.

The victim accompanied the officers to the local police station where he officially reported the incident and will have to hope the officers manage to track her down.
