Lottery Ticket Vendor killed in crash on outskirts of Pattaya

In front of the Royal Thai Navy Recruit Training Centre in Bang Saray, on the outskirts of Pattaya City, police officers were recently notified of a fatal road accident that had taken place in the afternoon, which had left a Lottery Ticket Vendor dead.

Arriving at the scene, on the main Sukhumvit Road, officers discovered the body of Khun Tongyoon, aged 45, lying in the road, close to his green Yamaha Spark motorcycle. Close by was a damaged silver Toyota Vios that had been driven by Khun Manasawin, aged 25, a resident of Pattaya, who had been returning from a business trip in Sattahip when the accident took place.

She explained to the officers that as she had been driving past the Training Centre, she had failed to see the motorcyclist, who exiting from the Centre, was attempting to cross the main Sukhumvit Road, a high speed collision took place which resulted in the instant death of the Lottery Ticket Vendor.

Police arrested Khun Manasawin and charged her with causing death by reckless driving.
