World Red Cross Day celebrated

Buthsarawadee Ekachai, president of Red Cross Chonburi,  formally opens a blood donation drive on World Red Cross Day. She said that blood is the most important life-giving commodity and that donating blood was one of the most effective charitable functions. World Red Cross Day started in 1860 when a European war caused many casualties in Austria and Italy, leading to the founding of the Red Cross in Switzerland.
