Silverlake Vineyard is turning its vineyard and winery near Pattaya into a major leisure destination for both locals and overseas visitors. Silverlake Group is to invest 150 million baht to build facilities on the 1,200 rai to include an amphitheatre, a concert hall and a 32-room four-star hotel in Tuscan style.
The company is starting the building work in May this year with a grand opening fixed for December or thereabouts. The concert hall will host both classical music affairs and private functions. “I would like the complex to become a global destination for music lovers,” said the group’s president, Surachai Tangjaitrong.
Part of the land will be a water theme park which is being developed through overseas investors and designed by White Water from Canada. The proposal is now with the Board of Investment for consideration of privileges.
Mr Surachai said they recently set up a new subsidiary to operate full-scale live entertainment in partnership with ISS Production which is owned by Jesada Pattanatabut, who will be in charge of technical productions for concerts. Mr Jesada has been involved in the local music industry for 25 years. The company plans to organize about 10 concerts a year with local and international bands and music.
Silverlake Entertainment (Silverlake Vineyard Pattaya) has already announced its first big concert titled Kitaro The Silk Road East and West Live. It will be held on March 26 and is expected to attract over 4,000 music lovers at the vineyard. Tickets 2,500 baht for all seats and doors open 16.30 hours.
The company expects sales of 77 million baht this year, rising to 100 million next year thanks to the innovative thinking and the lavish expenditure.
