Pattaya Yacht House Boutique Residence is your ideal home-from-home in Pattaya, equally suitable for singles, couples, families, retirees or businesspeople, on a short or long-term basis. Situated in a perfect location to access all of Pattaya’s many amenities, Pattaya Yacht House is a mere five-minute drive from Pattaya Beach, via Naklua Road; sufficiently near, whilst simultaneously being set in a secluded environment, which guarantees privacy and tranquillity.
The 15 serviced apartments are less than six months’ old, each having their own private access, patios or balconies. The development was once a yacht factory, hence its name, but has been extensively converted, so that virtually no trace of the original factory remains. Continual improvements are constantly being made. The main feature of the original yacht factory, namely the roof, has been imaginatively redesigned to provide extensive shade from the sun for the infinity-edge swimming pool and delightful recreation area, so that residents can relax over a light meal or book, without being inconvenienced by the sun’s glare, especially at midday. At first sight, the roof appears somewhat unusual, but it quickly grows on you, like the climbing plants which festoon its metal stanchions and supports, as you begin to appreciate the benefits it can afford. The conversion also maximized the free air-flow, so that there are gentle breezes blowing virtually all the time to keep residents and their guests cool. Some of the upper apartments have a nautical bridge-like aspect, giving a commanding view over the surrounding area.
The General Manager, Professor Noppawan Chongwatana, brought her intuitive appreciation of nature to complement the skills of the architect to convert the premises into an attractive series of rooms and suites, decorated and furnished in a refined, contemporary style to appeal both to Western and Oriental tastes. It was she who conceived fully 80 percent of the finished design, the perfect mix of traditional and modern, and while she confesses she didn’t use established principles of feng shui, as such, she has, nevertheless, an innate awareness of how to integrate nature and natural alignment with features of the contemporary lifestyle. You may notice this in the positions of the doors, to take advantage of the sun path to make the most of natural light, as well as blending in antique cement floor tiles of an attractive, traditional Italian design, with the concrete surrounds on the entrance balcony. You will also notice the multi-coloured panes of glass that make up the panels of the door.
There are six styles of apartments to choose from: Studio, Suite, Deluxe Suite, Garden Studio, Garden Suite and Deluxe Pool Garden Suite, ranging in price from Bt12,000 to 19,200 per month. There is also a daily rate of Bt1,000 to 1,600, and also three rental options, depending on residents’ length of stay. These long-term rental options obviously give better value for money the longer you stay; so, for instance, staying in a Studio would cost Bt12,000, Bt10,500 or Bt9,000, depending on whether you opted for a 1-5 month, 6-11 month or 1 year-plus period, respectively. For the top of the range Deluxe Pool Garden Suite, the equivalent rents would be Bt19,2000, Bt16,800 or Bt14,400 for the same time periods. The relevant prices of the other apartments may be found by consulting the Pattaya Yacht House Boutique Residence website.
The apartments contain all the necessary mod-cons and are all fully furnished with twin or double beds, bedside cabinets, dining tables, chairs and necessary cutlery and crockery, sofa, armchairs, daybeds and storage space. The kitchen areas contain microwave cookers, sinks and fridges and there is also provision for more elaborate cooking downstairs, when entertaining or parties are envisaged. Bed linen is provided, as are towels, with extras provided on request at a small additional price. The ground floor apartments have patios and those on other floors have balconies, both types giving garden or pool views. Those on the ground floor frequently have water features separating the apartments. The apartments are all tastefully decorated in either blue or white in a modern style, and hallways have attractive pictures on the wall, one of which depicts a famous figure from Thai mythology, Nang Manorah, a kinnaree or angelic, fairy-like being, with powers of enchantment and the ability to travel between heavenly and earthly realms, who captures the heart of Prince Prasuton. He, for his part, attempts to deprive her of her wings to keep her here on earth. There’s probably a subtle magical spell involved here, to enchant residents and make them fall in love with Pattaya Yacht House so they never leave!
The true magic of Yacht House, however, is in the Aroma Garden, Professor Noppawan’s pride and joy. She has green fingers and a profound love and appreciation of gardens, flora and gardening, which she confesses she would like to spend considerable more time on. You will see initial evidence of this appreciation of nature in the imaginaative attempt to disguise the starkness of the metalwork of the roof by training climbing plants wherever possible to ascend the structure. However, the Aroma Garden is a magnum opus (great work) in the creation, which Professor Noppawan hopes to have finished by the next rainy season. The garden contains a variety of extremely aromatic flowers, trees and shrubs, shady walks and even a herb garden, with occasional tables and chairs interspersed with the shrubbery and trees to truly enchant and enthral the guests with their profusion of colour and scents. As such, time spent in such idyllic surroundings will more than likely not only enhance residents’ lives, but conduce to their longevity by virtue of the peace and relaxation the garden confers.
