16 areas in Bangkok and suburbs at risk of smog today

An unhealthy level of smog is reported in 16 areas of Bangkok and two neighbouring provinces today, according to a bulletin from the Department of Pollution Control released via its Facebook page at 7am
this morning.

The areas where the level of PM2.5 dust particles exceeds 50 microns are Kanchanapisek Road, Din
Daeng Road, the districts of Pathumwan, Bang Khor Laem, Yan Nawa, Thon Buri, Klong San, Bangkok
Noi, Phasi Charoen, Bang Phlad, Bang Khun Thian and Sathorn in Bangkok. The smog is also affecting
Tambon Paknam of Muang district, Tambo Song Khanong of Phra Pradaeng district of Samut Prakan,
Tambon Om-noi in Krathum Ban district and Tambon Mahachai in Muang district of Samut Sakhon
province.

Monitoring devices show a moderate level of smog, which is not a threat to health, other in 22 areas.
The Department of Pollution Control said it has coordinated with authorities in the smog-affected areas
in taking steps to restore air quality as quickly as possible.
