Two international schools in Bangkok have been charged for violating various laws. The secretary of the National Commission for Primary Education’s office, Attaphol Treuktrong, said his office is taking legal action against the 2 international schools after the schools were found to be violating Thai law.

It would be the Foster International School in Thon Buri and the St. Mark’s School in Suan Luang.

It was reportedly discovered that Foster’s school employed six teachers who did not have work permits. Thai media reported that the teachers were caught while teaching. Region 6 Officers

The employees of the Bangkok Labor Department region 6 have arrested the alleged teacher criminals. Also, a school would not have all the required permits for teaching

At the time of licensing, officials at St. Mark’s School determined that the school was only allowed to have a preschool during the first 3 years it was open. The school is said to have provided primary and secondary education without permission.

The school has been ordered to stop new admissions from last week. Thai media say the criminal activity allegedly taking place at these institutions is part of a wider investigation they have into international schools following the cessation of education on the ground.

The officials expect to end more criminal activity as time goes on as schools struggle amid the Covid pandemic. Attaphol adds that parents should check his organization’s website if they have questions about whether the schools they send their children to are breaking laws.
