2 months after the “crackdown” in Soi Buakhao at “Tree Town” in Pattaya, still nothing has been done about the traffic congestion

Two months after promising to crack down on parking on Soi Buakhao, where motorbikes have already blocked narrow lanes, nothing has changed. When asked why the police had not yet done anything, the answer was that the Pattaya police would try again.

Motorists and business owners have loudly and repeatedly complained about the dozens of motorbikes parked 50 meters off the main street in Pattaya at the Tree Town Market bar.

Traffic has been reduced to a snail’s pace as lanes have been partially blocked by parked bicycles and the motorbike taxi rank opposite Tree Town.

On April 28, traffic police ordered that all parked bicycles be removed and instructed Tree Town guards to avoid on-street parking, urging vehicles to be parked within the bar complex itself.

Parking signs were then placed along the road, but as they say in the Netherlands and Belgium, when the cat is away, the mice dance.

It now appears that the police have not made the slightest effort to actually enforce their dictation, so nothing has changed.

After more complaints, the police came out again on June 28 and repeatedly told traders that no parking was allowed at Tree Town from 6 pm to 1 am.

Also today they promised again that this time there would be REAL regular patrols of the traffic police.
