Earlier this week, a 42-year-old truck driver was seriously injured after his vehicle collided with a truck parked outside a gas station in Banglamung district.
Emergency services were directed to Krating Lai – Rayong in Pong Sub-district. They arrived on the scene and found two damaged trucks on the road.
One of the truck drivers, Somjai Salapa, 42, was trapped in the cabin of his vehicle. It took about ten minutes to free him and he was taken to a local hospital. The second truck driver, whose identity was unknown, was unharmed.
Witnesses told rescuers that a truck driver was parked on the side of the road before the other trailer truck collided with the parked trailer truck. It was not immediately clear whether there were any proper warning lights related to the parked truck.
Police are continuing their investigation, including reviewing CCTV footage at a nearby gas station, for further legal action.
