This year it will rain earlier and more in Thailand, according to the Thai Meteorite Service

All employees of the irrigation authorities across the land should be prepared for possible flooding as the rainy season should start earlier than usual this year.

The weather agency predicts the start of the rainy season at the beginning of May with more rain than the average for thirty years.

Thaweesak Thanadechopol, the Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Authority has instructed all responsible officials to monitor water consumption accordingly.

The large and medium reservoirs were 50 percent full after the last rainy season. The total water volume was 38,348 billion cubic meters, of which 14,419 billion cubic meters for consumption.

The country’s four main reservoirs, Bhumibol, Sirikit, Khwae Noi Bamrung Daen and Pasak Jolasid, together stored 9,417 billion cubic meters of water at the end of the last rainy season. According to the water management plan, the process water is sufficient until the end of April and the beginning of May.
