9 teenagers injured in a brawl at a youth training center in Khon Kaen

Yesterday a brawl broke out in the Regional Center for Youth Training 4 between two groups of juvenile offenders. Nine teenagers in the centre were injured.

The provincial police, defence volunteers, rescue units and parole officers were immediately sent to the centre after the brawl broke out at approximately 11 a.m.

Two groups of teenagers used branches and wooden sticks to settle their differences during this confrontation.

Authorities managed to end the battle scene at about 1:00 PM, injuring nine teenagers. Four were admitted to Khon Kaen Hospital and five to Sinagarind Hospital. There were no reports of damage to the property.

Governor Somsak Jangtrakul, Khun Leekhaosung, hey district chief of Muang, and Colonel Preecha Kengsarikij, Muang’s police chief, took a look after the fight was brought under control.

350 delinquent children from nine northeastern provinces are now being trained at the centre, which comes under the Observation and Youth Protection Department of the Ministry of Justice. It is located on a piece of land behind Khon Kaen University near the Siharatdechochai camp for the 8th Infantry Regiment.
