A special is coming up for fans of the Harry Potter film series. The cast members reunite at Hogwarts for a reunion to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter movie. On January 1 appears Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts on HBO Max.
Stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson will be in attendance, as will Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix van Detta/Lestrange), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid) and Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) among others. Chris Columbus, who directed two of the eight films, is also joining.
HBO describes the special as an ” enchanting making-of story with all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved movie franchises of all time”.

It’s been about 20 years since the first Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, premiered. To celebrate, the reunion has started. The first film marked the beginning of one of the most successful film series in history. The eight films in total grossed $10 billion worldwide. In the Netherlands, more than twelve million visitors bought a cinema ticket.
