Angry taxi driver in Thailand fined for carjacking a bus with passengers

An emotionally charged taxi driver appeared to have lost her mind and put her responsibility aside while joyriding a bus with three college students.

The three students sitting in the back of the bus were petrified as the woman honked her horn along Phahonyothin Road in Pathum Thani province near Bangkok.

They asked the woman to stop to drop them off immediately, but the enraged woman completely ignored their request and continued her race.

Yesterday, the land transport department announced that they had already investigated the incident and found that the driver was 27-year-old Suphattra Yuenra.

The department explained that its actions violated the Thai Law Vehicle Act, Section 5 (15/1): a regulation for the safety of public transport and passengers. The department also added that the woman did not have a driver’s license for operating public transport.

As a result, the woman was fined 1,000 baht and asked to complete a three-hour training program for conscious driving. Later on, more fines could be imposed because she did not have a public transport license.
