Another 21 deaths and 1,940 new Covid 19 cases in Thailand

Thailand yesterday reported 21 deaths and 1,940 new coronavirus infections for the second consecutive day, bringing the number of cases to 68,984 and the death toll to 245.

Eight people were killed in Bangkok, four in Chiang Mai, two in Chonburi and Lamphun, and one in Nakhon Pathom, Tak, Rayong, Nakhon Sawan and Udon Thani provinces.

The ages of those who succumbed to the virus ranged from 38 to 88 years. They all suffered from chronic illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and other complications. The source of infection usually ran in the family and through contact with a patient.

Bangkok again topped the list of the most cases with 539, followed by 278 in Nonthaburi and 145 in Samut Prakan.
