Apple has indefinitely suspended sales of all of its products in Russia following the war in Ukraine. The American company itself reports this in a statement.
Apple says in the statement it sympathizes with the people in Ukraine. “We are deeply concerned about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and we are on the side of all those suffering as a result of the violence.”
In addition to stopping product sales in Russia, Apple Pay will also only be usable to a limited extent in the country. In addition, apps from Russian state media can no longer be downloaded in the app store.
Last week, the Ukrainian government asked Apple CEO Tim Cook to stop sales in Russia. “By 2022, modern technology may be the best response to tanks, rocket launchers, and bombs,” Vice President Mykhailo Federov said in a letter to Cook, who complied with the request.
I’ve contacted @tim_cook, Apple's CEO, to block the Apple Store for citizens of the Russian Federation, and to support the package of US government sanctions! If you agree to have the president-killer, then you will have to be satisfied with the only available site Russia 24. pic.twitter.com/b5dm78g2vS
