Arrest warrants issued against Nakhon Sawan police officers, four are already in custody

Nakhon Sawan Provincial Court issued arrest warrants yesterday, Aug. 25, against Police Colonel Thitisan Uttanaphon and 7 other police officers for allegedly choking a drug suspect, 4 of whom are already behind bars.

A team of 8 officers was wanted by police over leaked images that went viral on social media earlier in recent days, showing four plainclothes police officers covering a suspect’s head with a plastic bag while beating him. to allegedly extort 2 million baht from the suspect. The victim died as a result.

The National Police has already fired Colonel Thitisan alias Joe Ferrari and the allegedly involved officials while conducting an internal investigation.

Four of these “tough” men were arrested while allegedly trying to escape and were immediately taken for questioning by inspectors from the Region 6 Provincial Police.

According to the National Police Bureau, Colonel Thitisan and the rest of his club have fled to other provinces and are now wanted by the Nakhon Sawan Provincial Court over the arrest warrants issued.

Border Police and Immigration Bureau are also currently tightening inspections along Thailand’s border areas to prevent the Chief Inspector from leaving the country.
