The Muang Ayutthaya police station was alerted of the accident at 10pm Wednesday on the Bangkok-bound Asia Highway in Tambon Hantra of Ayutthaya’s Muang district.

The driver was identified as Panaithat Nutalai, 29, and his passenger as Sornsuda Klongsombat, 25.

The impact of the crash caused Panithat’s right leg to be torn off and hurled into the tree, where it became wedged on a branch. His right arm was also almost torn off.
