Travelers, who come to Thailand, are recommended to download the QR code, which was created for the convenient search of the welcoming hotel counter
After numerous complaints from tourists about long queues and confusion at Suvarnabhumi airport in the Thai capital, when angry visitors after leaving the luggage claim area had to search for the representatives of the welcoming hotel, the management of the air terminal has put it into circulation a QR code, designed to facilitate this search and immediately indicate to the arriving passenger the number of the hotel reception, where he should apply.
The code was designed with the assistance of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, participating hotels, and travel companies. It has been available to all incoming visitors to the kingdom since April 14.
“To make the public aware of the new QR code system, an infographic is being displayed on TV screens in the baggage carousel for international flights. Airport management has also ordered airlines to instruct their passengers to use the QR code before boarding,” said Kittipong Kittikachorn, general manager of the airport.
“In addition, we have installed two public relations booths — at gates B and C — with officials providing information on how to use the code,” he added.
Suvarnabhumi Airport also added nine more booths to the existing eight to serve customers of the more than 400 hotels, which are now arranged in alphabetical order, which should speed up the increasing flow of visitors. Continued next
At the moment, travelers to Thailand, including nationals, have to collect an entry package that includes a certificate of vaccination, a pre-booked 1-night stay, and a pre-booked PCR test on arrival.
The on-arrival test could be canceled as of May 1, in accordance with the recommendations of the Situation Group on Coronavirus in Thailand. However, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha said the day before that the government intends to wait until April 22, when the Thai New Year Songkran festival is over and the statistics on Covid-19 diseases during its celebration become known.
