Bangkok police arrested four pro-democracy protesters over the weekend for vandalizing state property.

Police Major General Jirasan Kaewsangek, deputy commissioner of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police Station, claimed that the suspects vandalized a police vehicle and a traffic booth at Phya Thai intersection on September 29.

Anti-government protests were held in three locations on Saturday, namely the Bangkok Remand Prison, the Supreme Court and the Din Daeng intersection.

General Jirasan also stated that police officers along with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and National Housing Authority officials visited the residents of the Din Daeng flats on Friday to ensure their safety.

He said 683 anti-government protests have been held in Bangkok since July 2020 and 366 of the cases are still under investigation.
