Brooklyn Subway Shooting: Police identifies 62-year-old man as ‘person of interest’

Police in New York are looking for a 62-year-old man who may have been involved in the attack that took place the other day at a subway station in the New York borough of Brooklyn. At least 10 people were hit by a bullet. A total of 29 people were injured. No one is in mortal danger.

It concerns the 62-year-old Frank James, who is seen as a person of interest. He is therefore not yet seen as the perpetrator, but the police assume that he could at least have something to do with the incident. Police say it is a homeless man. That was concluded after his social media accounts were checked.

James is said to have complained on social media about New York Mayor Eric Adams and homelessness. As a precaution, Adams gets extra police protection. A reward of $50,000 is being offered for the golden tip that leads to the man’s arrest.

According to eyewitnesses, the perpetrator wore a gas mask and fired a smoke grenade into a subway car, after which he opened fire. People were shot at both in the metro and on a platform. Police say he was shot at least 33 times with a handgun. The police also found a semi-automatic handgun with several magazines, a small axe and petrol in the metro set.
