Coronavirus worldwide in sharp decline
The number of corona infections worldwide is steeling strongly. This is according to figures from Johns Hopkins University and Worldometer.
Worldwide, 12.4 million infections were reported in seven days at the end of March. In the following weeks, that number dropped to 11.8 million per week, 9.6 million, 7.4 million, 5.7 million and 5 million.
Despite the sharp decline, the figures still cause concern in a number of places. For example, China has been fighting major corona outbreaks for several weeks with very strict lockdowns. Also in other Asian countries, such as Thailand, Vietnam and South Korea, there is still a relatively large number of infections.
