British police arrested at least 49 people last night and tonight around the European Championship final between England and Italy after supporters came into conflict with each other. Nineteen officers were injured, police said.
“Agents are helping fans get out of Wembley Stadium and central London,” police wrote on Twitter yesterday after the European Championship final. “We are here to keep you safe”.

There were disturbances around Wembley Stadium in London before the European Championship final. Groups of people without tickets forced their way through barriers in various places and tried to enter the stadium.
According to the stadium management, the incidents were limited to the outer barriers and due to quick intervention, no fans entered without a ticket.
The European Championship final was allowed to be attended by 60,000 spectators in the stadium. Possibly many Brits lingered near the stadium to take in some of the exuberant atmospheres.
