Due to the heavy rains, the Chao Phraya reservoir is on the verge of flooding, especially the lowlands near Ayutthaya will be flooded

Thai people living near the Chao Phraya reservoir, especially those in Ayutthaya’s Phak Hai and Sena districts, have been warned of severe flooding.

The National Water Authority believes that coming rains in the upper basin will significantly raise the level of the Chao Phraya River on Sept. 29, bringing an abundance of rainwater from Nakhon Sawan Main District and Chainat Sappaya District to the plains will flow

This will affect lowland areas in Ayutthaya’s Phak Hai and Sena districts, with severe flooding expected.

Meanwhile, Singburi provincial office announced on its Facebook page that the Chao Phraya dam will discharge water at 1,950 cubic meters per second, which in turn will raise the level of the river by 50 centimeters.

Separately, authorities have warned of flash flooding and potential landslides in 15 provinces, namely Chiang Mai, Lampang, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chaiyaphum, Loei, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi and Trat .
