Family of murdered Indian mobster on Phuket come to Thailand to collect his body
The family of the Indian mobster who was killed by hitmen last week will arrive one of these days to return his body to India, police chief General Suwat Jangyodsuk said.
General Suwat said relatives of Jimi Sandhu alias “Slice” had been advised by the National Police Office to travel to Phuket on Sunday or Monday to collect his body.
Sandhu was gunned down by two gunmen in a parking lot near his rented beachfront villa on Rawai Beach on the night of Feb. 4. His body is currently in the state in the morgue of Vachira Phuket Hospital.
The murder is being investigated by 20 police teams. Last Thursday, they found two pistols in the sea not far from the crime scene. It was not yet known whether it was the pistols used by the two killers.
The police chief reiterated that arrest warrants for the two suspects, Canadian citizens, would be issued soon, even though they were said to have left Thailand last Sunday. The gunmen were former Canadian Army soldiers, he added.
General Suwat said police would involve Interpol in the hunt for the two men and hoped they would be extradited to Thailand.
Surveillance cameras showed two men in hooded jackets and shorts near the crime scene after the shooting.
