An (as yet) unknown foreign woman was found drunk at a currency exchange office near the Royal Garden Plaza on Pattaya’s Second Road in the early morning of Oct. 10, where it was found that all her valuables had been stolen.

The police and rescue volunteers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan arrived at the scene around 2:00 am. After the local princess was warned by a foreign man

The woman, whose nationality was unknown, was wearing a white shirt and black shorts and was snoring heavily on the sidewalk. The rescuers then woke her up and did an initial health check.

According to local witness and taxi driver Wanchai Petchnil, the woman had been unconscious for some time when he drove by. He also witnessed what he claimed to be a motorcycle taxi driver approaching her and rolling her pockets. The motorcyclist quickly drove off with the woman’s wallet when he saw the taxi driver observing the situation closely. Wanchai then called the police because he did not know how many of her valuables were missing.

The police then began to ask the woman some questions but were barely able to respond, let alone talk, because of her drunkenness. Therefore, she was taken to Pattaya Police Station to sober up, when she regains her wits, she will be interrogated again.

Pattaya police said they would observe CCTV cameras to try to locate the alleged thief. They did not say whether they would charge the woman for ignoring the legal curfew that is set from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. or if the woman may have been allowed to go out with a legal permit to go out curfew.
