Free quarantine stay for Thai resident expires on July 1

People with Thai passports who want to visit their homeland or return home will have to pay for their quarantine as the government will soon stop providing free accommodation, the Office of the National Security Council (ONSC) reports.

General Natapol Nakpanit, who is the secretary-general of the ONSC, said that the administrative centre for Covid19 containment, the CCSA has been monitoring the cancellations of the state’s quarantine facilities since March, as few people come from abroad.

He added that authorities are considering offering a reduced rate for alternative state quarantine.

The State Quarantine will cease to exist on July 1, unless the Prime Minister has ordered otherwise.
