The island government of Koh Larn has published an announcement on social media stating that the popular island will reopen to visitors from tomorrow, Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

There will be three ferries per day between Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya and Koh Larn – at 7 am 12 pm and 5.30 pm.

As on the mainland, all Covid19 restrictions issued by the Chonburi provincial government, including the ban on gathering more than 25 people and the nightly curfew from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., are on the entire island of application.

As the Governor of Chonburi Province has not yet announced whether the beach closure order will be extended or lifted, Koh Larn’s inviting shores will remain closed until at least August 31, 2021, unless the order is amended in advance at short notice.

While the island was temporarily closed to visitors in August due to various Covid19 infections, Koh Larn’s vaccination campaign made rapid progress with more than 70 per cent of islanders already vaccinated against Covid-19, according to health authorities.

The previously considered mandatory vaccination for visitors to the island appears to be off the table as it is not mentioned in the announcement published Friday. You only need a passport (foreigners) or a Thai identity card (locals) to visit the island. Foreign migrant workers are not allowed to visit the island.
