Good news, the second RT-PCR test in Thailand’s “Test & Go” program is off track in March

 Good news for tourists and residents who want to return to Thailand from abroad: From March, the second Covid-19 RT-PCR test, which according to the “Test & Go” program was mandatory on the fifth day after arrival in Thailand kingdom no longer requires.

The news was announced to the press after the meeting yesterday by the spokesman for the administrative centre for Covid19 containment, the CCSA.

According to the CCSA, the previously mandatory second test in an ASQ++ hotel will be replaced by an ATK self-test. Also, the travel health insurance required for an entry will be reduced from $50,000 to $20,000.

Travellers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 can register for “Test & Go” entry under the new rules in the Thai passport system from March 1, 2022, under the new relaxed rules, it will be possible from March 7, 2022. March 2022.

The new “Test & Go” rules are now as follows:

  • Booking for 1 night in a SHA++ hotel pending the test result on the first day of entry (previously 2 nights for isolation in a SHA++ hotel)
  • Booking for 1 RT-PCR test on the first day of entry (previously 2 RT-PCR tests on the 1st and 5th day of travel)
  • Minimum Travel Health Insurance USD 20,000 (previously USD 50,000) More details to be announced at a later date.
