American actor Ray Liotta passed away yesterday at the age of 67. According to TMZ, he died in his sleep.
Liotta died in the Dominican Republic where he was shooting the movie Dangerous Waters. It is still unknown what the cause of death is. His death was not the result of a crime, according to local police.
Liotta leaves behind his fiancée Jacy Nittolo, who was present at the filming location, and a daughter from a previous relationship.
Liotta landed his first role in the series Another World in 1978, after graduating from drama school in Miami. However, his big break came in 1990 when he played the role of Henry Hill in director Martin Scorsese’s classic Goodfellas. He also received critical acclaim for his roles in the films Cop Land and Hannibal. In addition to his film career, Liotta also voiced Tommy Vercetti, the main character from the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
