Pattaya Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai told the local press: “We need to start disinfecting these markets and get the spread of the virus under control as soon as possible.”

“The biggest problem right now is that people are not getting Covid19 tests or are refusing to report symptoms of Covid-19 in hopes of isolating themselves instead,” Pattaya’s deputy mayor said.

The current plan, according to Manot, is to accelerate vaccination efforts in the markets and risk areas.
