Developer Hangar 13 finally has some good news for fans of the Mafia games. The Mafia 3 developer has confirmed via his website that a brand new part is in the works.
In an extensive article on the Hangar 13 website, General Manager Roman Hladík and Production Head Tomáš Hřebíček look back at the entire franchise. Last Saturday it was exactly twenty years ago that the first part in the series saw the light of day. At the end of the article, Hladík reveals that fans will be able to enjoy Mafia in the form of a new Mafia game for years to come.
“I am happy to report that we have embarked on a brand new Mafia project,” said Hladík. “While it’s years away and I can’t share anything more, we are very excited to continue working on this much-loved franchise and entertain our players with new stories.”
The most recent main game in the Mafia series is the poorly received Mafia 3 . That was the first game in the series to be developed by Hangar 13. In 2020, the Czech developer also made the remake of the first part and the remasters of the two sequels.
In May, it was rumored that a brand new Mafia game is in the works at Hangar 13. It is said to be a prequel and the story revolves around the character Don Salieri, who can also be seen in the first part, and the game is set in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
