A 19-year-old high school student in the northeastern Thai province of Roi-et has been arrested and charged with robbing a gold store.
Armed with a knife, the student went to the gold store on April 24, 2021 and eventually managed to flee with 11 baht gold chains.
Crime Suppression Division (CDC) detectives and local police officers later went to the student’s house and took him to the police station for questioning.
The student confessed that he had received more than 100,000 baht from a healer for the sale of some gold chains. He used some of the money to pay off debts and kept the rest for himself to flourish.
The detectives later went to the suspect’s house and found seven gold chains hidden in his room. The chains have since been returned to the gold store.
