The Department of Disease Control (DDC) announced this week that Thai citizens who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 can apply for a vaccine passport that will allow them to travel abroad.

“The DDC will issue a certificate to people who have received vaccines registered under the Thai Drug Act or certified by the World Health Organization,” said DDC Director-General Dr Grandpa Karnkawinpong.

“The document must bear the signature of the Director-General of the Department of Disease Control or an elected candidate, as well as the stamp of the agency. One vaccine passport will only certify one person,” he said.

The following documents are required to apply for a vaccine passport:

1. A valid passport that does not expire in the next six months, along with a photocopy.
2. Identification card, along with a photocopy.
3. Proof of vaccination against Covid-19 issued by the DDC along with a copy.
4. Application fee of THB 50 per passport.

If a proxy holder applies for the vaccine passport for another person, the proxy holder must also submit a letter of authorization and his identity card, together with a copy.

The DDC will issue a vaccine passport through these four channels:

  • Bamrasnaradura Institute of Infectious Diseases, Nonthaburi. Tel: 0-2951-1170-9 extension 3430
