Thai Rath” has reported of a violent crime at a resort in the Phuphaman police area in Khon Kaen, northeast Thailand.

A 27-year-old man named Yuthaphan Phuangnuam, 27, took a 39-year-old woman named “B” to a resort in the scenic area, where she rented room 3.

The cheating wife’s legal husband, a 40-year-old man named Rungroj Thiianyoi, found out through social media that they were nearby. He drove there in his Mercedes Benz and stayed at a resort 1 km away.

He then borrowed a staff member’s motorcycle and went to look for his wife and her lover at various resorts and said he was looking for his wife who forgot to tell him the name of the resort.

When he found out which resort they were at, he rented room 4 next to the couple and bided his time.

Once the couple was in the room—with Yuthphan in the outdoor jacuzzi-style pool and “B” sitting in a wicker chair—he stormed in through a curtain. He used a 9mm pistol to shoot Yuthaphan once in the neck and twice in the torso.

Police found the victim floating in the bloodied tub, wearing only black shorts. There were three shell casings on the spot. The man then pulled his wife with him and fumbled her in her Honda Civic, leaving the engine behind.

Fearing for the woman’s life, the police scrambled to find the couple, a swift action that yielded one encouraging result and took the 9mm pistol as evidence.

The 40-year-old husband was previously involved in a 2012 murder and attempted murder case in Samut Sakhon. He had also dealt with gun crimes in Samut Sakhon and Khon Kaen.

The investigation continues with a police press conference expected to provide more details today.
