Important notice for Thailand’s gastronomy and other services

As of Oct. 1, only those who have been fully vaccinated against the Covid19 virus or have a negative antigen test result will be allowed to dine in restaurants and use services considered to be at high risk of virus transmission in “dark red” provinces, where the maximum Covid19 restrictions apply.

According to Health Ministry Director-General Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoenchai, this move is part of the government’s drive to reopen businesses as the number of Covid19 infections continues to rise in the country.

Guests would then fill out a form stating their risk of infection through the government’s “Thai Save Thai” app before entering locations considered high-risk, including restaurants, barbershops and hair salons, beauty clinics and spas.

In addition, before entering the site, they will be asked for one vaccination certificate or the customers (guests) must present a negative Covid19 antigen test result that is not older than one week. Former patients must present records showing that they have recovered.

Business operators must also strictly adhere to existing provincial regulations, Khum Suwannachai said.

The staff must be fully vaccinated, social distancing must be observed at all times and they must be screened weekly for the Covid19 virus. Furthermore, every restaurant, salon or shop should disinfect regularly touched surfaces every 1-2 hours.

A high-efficiency particulate air filter must be installed on AC units and proper ventilation must be provided.
