In southern Thailand, a 16-year-old boy was caught with 112,000 meth pills

There, a 16-year-old boy was arrested by counter-narcotics police who seized 112,000 methamphetamine pills from him during a house search in Hat Yai district.

Colonel Akrawut Thaneerat, the Hat Yai Police Chief, said police searched a house on Soi 7 near Khlong Rian Road in Hat Yai Municipality under a court order. They acted on anonymous information and learned that the property was being used to store illegal drugs from where the drugs were further distributed.

When police arrived, a boy, later identified as “Ken”, fled the house. He was arrested after an intensive chase.

During the search, 112,000 meth pills with a street value of about 3 million baht were found in a cardboard box in a room on the second floor.

The boy is said to have admitted that he was hired to store the meth pills and deliver them to buyers. He was paid about 10,000 baht for each delivery.

He is said to have kept drugs in the house three times before, he has been detained for further questioning about the origin of the drugs.
