In Thailand, 68 people have now died after vaccination

According to Thailand’s Department of Disease Control, DDC, 68 people have now died after receiving Covid19 vaccinations.

According to Dr Chawetsan Namwat, director of the DDC’s Emergency and Health Risk Agency, at least 13 of the 68 deaths cannot be directly linked to the vaccine. 55 cases are still under investigation.

“After a thorough investigation by medical experts, we discovered that 13 deaths were caused by other factors. These were: acute coronary syndrome (8 cases), immune thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (1), pulmonary embolism (1), purulent meningitis (1), intra-abdominal aneurysm (1) and brain aneurysm (1),” said Dr Chawetsan.

The causes of death in the 55 other cases will be announced in the coming week. The director said: “From February 28 to June 16, 7,003,783 vaccines were administered in Thailand, almost half of which, 3,214,385 doses, were Sinovac preparations.

However, serious side effects of the Sinovac vaccinations were found in 993 people who had to be hospitalized. That equates to 20 people per 100,000 vaccines given.

The most common side effects of the Sinovac vaccination are dizziness (20 per cent), nausea (15 per cent), headache (12 per cent), vomiting (8 per cent), rash (7 per cent), muscle pain (6 per cent), diarrhea (5 per cent). per cent) and itching (4 per cent).

1,943,693 doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine were administered. 472 people were hospitalized after vaccination, which equates to 24 people for every 100,000 doses given. The most common side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine are fever (31 per cent), headache (27 per cent), dizziness (21 per cent), nausea (21 per cent), vomiting (20 per cent), muscle pain (15 per cent), fatigue (13 per cent). per cent) and diarrhea (7 per cent).
