It was the second time Jake faced Tyron in the ring. Earlier this year, in August, the 24-year-old American was narrowly declared the winner by the jury. His 39-year-old compatriot, therefore, wanted revenge.

The blow in the sixth lap came like a bolt from the blue for Tyron. In the five rounds before that, the fight had remained quite tame, causing even booing from the hall.
“This is real life, I promised I’d beat him to a pulp,” a proud Jake said after the interview in the ring. “It was a tough fight and blood was dripping in my face. But I knew that one punch would come, I was preying on it the whole game.”
Jake was actually supposed to face Tommy Fury on Saturday in Florida. However, the brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury dropped out due to a broken rib and a chest infection. Tyron was therefore put forward as a replacement.
