With the Samui Sealed Route model, the paradise holiday island of Koh Samui wants to open to vaccinated foreign tourists from July 1.

The tourism industry has established a sealed itinerary that tourists can take to travel to beaches in Tham Rang in Angthong National Marine Park or participate in wellness activities such as yoga, spa treatments and meditation.

Before that, tourists must stay in their room on the day of arrival and take a swab test on the second day, after which they can leave their room and use other hotel facilities.

Travellers can leave the hotel from the fourth day and another test will be taken on the seventh day. With a negative result, you can continue your journey on Koh Samui or to other destinations.

According to Ratchaporn Poolsawadee, the chairman of the Tourism Association of Koh Samui, the vaccination campaign on the island has gained momentum. About 30 per cent, or 25,000 people, would have already received two doses of the vaccine, and there are very few reports of side effects. “We firmly believe that the vaccination process will be completed by June, which will be in time for the reopening plan,” said Khun Ratchaporn.

Vacationers from Israel, Australia, Russia and Southeast Asian countries wanted to visit the island once it was fully open to tourism, meanwhile, Surat Thani province has now had to tighten travel restrictions and disease control measures to stop the spread of the virus as 50 cases of Covid-19 on Koh Samui have been reported.

It is important for you as a guest in Thailand to know that the measures and developments regarding the Covid19 virus (can) change at any time, do not blame your news bear if he does not report the changes in time.
