Many victims of Chinese plane crash identified
Most victims of the crash of a Boeing 737-800 of China Eastern on Monday last week have been identified. This concerns 120 of the 132 occupants. When the plane came down, all passengers and crew were killed.
The China Eastern Airlines plane crashed during a domestic flight in the mountains near Wuzhou, a city in the southern region of Guangxi. It is not yet clear what caused the crash. No traces of explosives were found during the investigation, the Chinese aviation authority reports.
The second black box, the flight data recorder, containing flight data is still being sought. The sound recorder was found on Wednesday. The search for the crucial object focuses on the hundreds of meters around the spot where the plane crashed, although parts of the Boeing have been found elsewhere, up to twelve kilometres away.
