Hua Hin Police Station officers found the driver on the ground with two gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder. Police checked CCTV footage of nearby bars and restaurants and found videos of two drivers talking to each other before one fires a gun at the other. The gunman fired a second shot after the victim fell to the ground and then fled on a motorcycle.

A team of 20 police officers, who arrived at the suspect’s house on Soi Hua Na 11, spent an hour trying to persuade the suspect to surrender.

Officers searched his home and found a .38 handgun hidden under the bed.

The 48-year-old suspect allegedly confessed to shooting his colleague after they argued over a foreign passenger. The victim had driven the passenger to a coffee shop and planned to pick up the foreigner afterwards, but the suspected motorcycle taxi driver would have already picked up the foreigner and taken him away. The two later got into a heated argument and the driver allegedly shot the other after accusing him of “stealing” a passenger.
