Krabi police are investigating the mysterious death of a Sydney man who left Koh Pu in the middle of the night in early June on a small boat and never returned.

28-year-old Robert Wojcik lived as a diving instructor on the picturesque island of Pu, off the west coast of Krabi province. The talented sailor graduated from the famous Scots College in Sydney in 2010 before travelling the world and becoming a driving instructor. Family and friends raised the alarm on June 2 when he failed to return from a night out at sea.

The next morning, local fishermen went in search of the Australian, only to discover an empty boat at sea. Police are investigating his death and believe he apparently fell overboard, his remains were later found.

The keys to the boat were still in the ignition and his wallet and backpack were on board. What was missing was his iPad, which he used to communicate with his family in Australia. The last contact was a conversation with his father around 9.30 pm. Wojcik lived in Thailand since December 1919.
